Will You?
I Won't Be Silent is our push to reach a majority of citizens with the positive message that suicide is preventable and enable those citizens to reach out for help for their loved ones and friends. Ultimately, as more people reach out for help, and more resources are available, we should begin to see a reduction in the rates of suicide.
In Our Nation
- Over 48,000 individuals died by suicide in 2024
- Each day, we lose 133 individuals to suicide
- Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for youth ages 10-24
- Across ages 10-44, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death
- 20.4% of High School Youth said that they had "seriously considered suicide within the last 12 months"

The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI) is dedicated to the prevention of the “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide through educational and awareness programs that equip young people, educators/youth workers and parents with the tools and resources to help identify and assist at-risk youth.
